Hi Andy,
You may get a better deal elsewhere in the web. When we stayed there, we booked through http://www.medhotels.com
It's like everything else, you get what you pay for and the Mare Nostrum resort is a very high standard. Not sure whether or not I would pay over the odds though, we got a good deal when we booked.

Hi there
http://www.travelrepublic.co.uk are also a bit more reasonable for the Mare Nostrum.
http://www.thomson.co.uk http://www.thomascook.co.uk and http://www.somewheretostay.com also offer accommodation at this hotel (although a bit more expensive).
Having stayed at the Mediterranean Palace 9 times since April 2003 (and having used the facilities at the other hotels) haven't been tempted to try the others yet. They're certainly all lovely, and of a v. high standard. To give you an idea, the cheapest we've paid for two weeks B&B, accomodation only, at the Med Palace, for two people is just over £800. I feel this is reasonable for the quality of that Hotel. The others tend to be slightly more expensive.

we book ours through http://www.wintersunshineholidays.com they are very good. its is then cheaper to upgrade your room when you get to the hotel.

Alternatively, do what we do and e-mail the request. We've done this about ten times in the past seven years, and it still works out the cheapest way to do it (and I suspect you get better treatment by the hotel as well, it certainly feels that way).

You could try Cande Linares at ExpoGrupo who handles the sales side (clinares@expogrupo.com) - she's also very helpful.

Kind regards,

Has anybody stayed in the Mare Nostrum over Christmas or particularly New Year? I've booked the Julio Cesar for this December, but one site I've looked on mentions a "mandatory" New Year Gala Dinner costing £134 per person! I don't want to get there and suddenly get asked for £268 with no warning! Nothing was mentioned in the booking, but i did do it online - i've e-mailed the hotel but haven't had a reply... Thanks!

I'm sorry there is no reply as yet from either the hotel or the forum but hang in there I'm sure it won't be long before someone answers your plea for help .

Hi
We are going to Mare Nostrum resort mid September and our return flight home is i the evening (9pm.....ish!).
Does anybody know if they have any facilities to shower/change before leaving - I am presumming we will have to check out of room at noon, but then have the rest of the day until we fly.
Just wondered if they had any facilities, or if our only option is to be ripped off with having to pay for a late check out.
Thanks

Hi.

Think you are right, out by noon or pay extra 25euros, and then only if the room is not booked.
Stayed in June 07, locked storage for cases, we kept hotel pool towels and showered, handed them back later, used the toilets to wash and change, used showers around the pool.

Can anyone tell me what the dress code is for the bars and restaurants within the Mare Norstrum Hotel please ? we are visiting the hotel for the first time in June.

Breakfast; Anything seemed to go. Saw Versace and then a skimpy bikini (not at the breakfast table thank-you)

Evening meal: Casual/smart. long trousers, shirt.

Bars in complex: Anything seemed to go, never used as they were too dear. 2 Bacardi & cokes 14euro plus tip. I think not.

Thinking of booking for Mare Nostrum for 2010, anyone know which tour operators/websites would be best. Tried the usual search on Google but not having much luck. Thanks.

Stayed at the Mediterranean some years back, but a bit dated now.
