Can't help with the baby questions, but there should be an email address on the P&O website where you could ask.

We were on the Oceana 2 years ago. There was a supplement of around £5pp for the Marco Pierre White restaurant which was very good. There was an additional supplement around £3.50 if you wanted the beef dish and £6 for the seafood platter.

The Horizon Grill had a £8 supplement which included rib eye steak, but we preferred MPW. You have to book these restaurants and I would suggest doing it the first couple of days as it can be hard to get a reservation once more people learn about them.

A small can of beer was £2, a glass of house wine £2.65 with other wines from £3.35. Cocktail of the day was £2.50, other cocktails were around £4.

Yes you can use the buffet if you don't want to dress up for the formal nights. Around 5-6pm it is full of people with children.

I sounds like you are thinking of booking direct with P&O. I would suggest trying specialised travel agents such as Cruise Kings, Bolsover, etc as they often have better prices than booking direct and can also have incentives such as free parking which is often offered.

We have been on Ventura twice with a small child 3 and now 4. I assume Azura will offer similar.

Night nursery is open from 6pm to 2am. Children must be asleep when you leave them. There is no charge. You cannot book places, it is on first come first served and you will be allocated a cot. This will be allocated to you for the entire cruise, unless it is busy and once again first come first served will apply.

There is a soft drinks card and a various wine packages. Drinks are similar to UK pubs - pint of beer £2.85. Cocktails £3-6. Bottle of wine £12-30.

The casino is out of bounds to children.

Dress code applies wherever you decide to eat.

If you have a young child I'd go for freedom dining, unless you want the same table and dining companions every night - it makes life so much easier as you aren't working towards a timetable for your evening meal.

If you are happy to eat later 8.30-9pm getting a table for two in freedom should be easier.

Excursions depend on where you are going. You will pay a child price which is about 2/3rds an adult price - expect to pay £30+ per adult for half a day. Do some research on ports before you travel. Many can be done by yourself, especially the city ones.

Along with what others have said try a few cruise agents before booking, they all have different offers.

If you get free parking check the small print on when it has to be booked. It is generally 35 days before you sail, but in our case it was 56. My advice is to book it straight away.
