Further to Vans post here we would like to reassure members that steps ARE being taken. We are not going to be used as part of any campaign. This is a HOLIDAY forum and will concentrate upon things that are relevant to holidaymakers.

One tactic being used at the moment is to highlight anything at all negative in the local press. Well, any place can sound a nightmare if the bad news is all posted. In my home city for instance, in the past week we have had murders; violence; rape; people flooded out of their homes and accusations that nothing was down by the local council to prevent or help residents; further accusations that money is being wasted by councillors whilst vital services are suffering..... Put all that on the UK forum and any person thinking of visiting the place would be looking up the FCO to see if there was a travel advisory.

If anyone would like to read the local Goan press online I will add links for them after this post. But please don't come on just to publish links. These will be removed if not relevant or moved to the expats forum if we feel that they are interesting and members might like to discuss issues a bit more in depth. Please note though that political discussions are not what this website is about and, in fact, this is part of our T&CS.

Hijacking of threads just to add links which are not absolutely relevant will not be tolerated.

Personal attacks either on members or on the mod team will not be tolerated and will result in a warning or a ban. It would help greatly if members reported any posts they feel are breaking our T&Cs. You can do this by pressing the ! button at the bottom of the post.

We will continue as normal to discuss the good and the bad about HOLIDAYS in Goa. If this post is something you disagree strongly with, please find a forum which is more to your liking.

Finally, although it may not seem like it to a lot of you, the problems are only from a very few members. We do have property owners here who give invaluable help and advice and I would like to reassure you that you will always be welcome on the forum. I do sympathise with the predicament a lot of property owners are in and please feel free to use our expats forum for discussions which are more relevant to you rather than a holidaymaker.
