Not completely! So much depends on the weather of course. Last March it wasn't too bad around here, March 2009 it was not nice at all and very cold (for these parts) to boot. You probably won't be sitting on Quarteira's rather nice beach.

It's easy enough to get to Faro, Albufeira and Loulé on the bus; you can walk to Vilamoura.

I have a personal website with the bus times in English .

http://www.algarvebus.info/007.htm is Quarteira - Loulé
http://www.algarvebus.info/002e.htm is Albufeira - Quarteira - Faro
http://www.algarvebus.info/002w.htm is Faro - Quarteira - Albufeira

feel free to browse around the site if you fancy going further afield eg Silves, Lagos etc

Thanks cubsur! I'd already had a look at your site to see how accessible Quarteira is by bus and it seemed to fit the bill. We stayed in Praia do Vau a couple of years ago and went to Alvor, Lagos and Silves, so we thought we'd visit a different area this time.

We went to Palma, Majorca in March this year and had snow :yikes so, whilst any sunshine would be a bonus, we're not expecting the greatest weather at that time of year.

I think we'll probably go ahead and book it.
