we have just booked the Midland hotel - 5 mins away from the domestic dep. It is £65 and includes transfers from and to the airport. I'm not expecting a lot for that

If you plan ahead and book early enough you can get a great deal at the Taj hotel at the gateway to india!
I booked about 6months ahead and got a room for £60! Used expedia and everythng was fine. It is an amazing hotel and worth it if you want to explore a little whilst in Mumbai.
