We stayed in Salou in May, took the local bus to Tarragona, then walked to the sea and the Roman Ruins, then picked the toy train thing where we were given ear phones, you choose your language and listen to the history of the place while you go round, thought it was well worth the money and the buildings were lovely, but then again I like stuff like that, it made a nice day and gave you an idea which areas you wanted to go back and see. We went on a cloudy day, really only to give us something to do, but glad we went now.

We tried Cambrils instead which was just fabulous. Get the bus from outside McD's and it takes about 10 minutes for 1.25€ My friend and I had a fantastic day shopping and then sat in an outdoor cafe opposite the marina having a lovely lunch.

We went to Tarragona last week for the day from Salou and we loved it there. We found the Roman ruins excellent and very interesting. We much preffered Tarragona to Barcelona.
