Returned very early this morning from Turunc. We thought prices were pretty good. On average our evening meal was about 80TL for 2, typically this could be maybe a couple of mezes to start, followed by fish for one of us and casserole for the other, a bottle of wine and a couple of beers, followed by Turkish coffee. The exchange rate was 2.8 so that converts to £28.57.
Having said that there is quite a range of prices, one of our least memorable meals was in Pisces, which was a massive disappointment and was about 150TL for 2, one of the best - casserole from Serifs kitchen, meze starter, couple of glasses of wine and beer 46TL for 2! Bondjuks excellent as ever 133TL for FOUR people, included complementary mezes, Bondjuk salad and main courses, complimentary rice pudding dish for dessert, wine and beer.
A loaf of bread straight out of the oven from the bakers was 85 kuros. Bottle of Efes in a bar 5TL, in the supermarket 4 bottles for 13TL.
Musti's boat trip, with Simba the dog on great form, was £12 each,as usual whole day including bbq lunch. Can't remember exact prices of drinks but were very reasonable.
Taxi boat to Kumlubuk 10TL per person return, Marmaris still 15TL return.
Turkish bath was £20 per person, included 30 minute massage, whole thing took about one and half hours.
Turkey is more expensive than it used to be, but compared to Europe we still think it is great value for money, and the exchange rate this year has made it even more so.

Hi Alfie, Thanks for your reply. Glad you had a good time. Prices do seem reasonable considering I had read so many reports of the cost going up since we last went in 2009. Obviously the exchange rate helps. Who knows what that will be next summer. It does look like it will be back to turunc for us.

On another note do you know if the Nirvana apartments ever built their swimming pool? Just curious.

Regards

Hi Esm,
Sorry can't help with Nirvana apartments. Their website is no longer available and haven't heard anything in the village.
Its strange the way that once you've been to Turkey(particularly Turunc), nothing really compares! We do enjoy seeing other places in the world, but always find ourselves thinking of Turunc at some point!
Even though it is only a small place we still find something different to do every time.
We enjoyed a couple of days at Kumlubuk this summer, been there before but there's a bit more there now, so makes a good day out.
Have a good time next year!
