Qawra is about half a mile from Buggiba and it is a lot Quieter. There are a few bars but the nightlife is in Buggiba which suited us personally. We walked along the Promenade every day and Night. There is numerous food kiosks along the prom but we found the best to be Tanti Super. there prices are excellent (baguettes with salad ) 1 euro, pint of beer 1.2 euros. The view at Sunset is second to none though. Watching the sun go down behind Gozo is Spectacular by anyone standards.
Buggiba is alot Busier. We tended to only go there to enjoy the Walk.Although it is still a lovely town.
Worst thing about Malta in general is the Time Share sellers. They are Everywhere and they will tell you anything to trap you. We nearly got captured on our first day being told we had won a holiday and they wasnt time share, they were just promoting a Hotel. DONT BELIEVE ANYTHING YOU ARE TOLD. It is always the female who has "won" the holiday and the male a bottle of wine. Just dont be tempted to listen to them.
on the plus side ,you aren`t bothered with Restaurants trying to drag you in to their Establishments which is a refreshing change.
We found Qawra and Buggiba a lovely blend of quiet and Lively if that is what you wanted. Please just go and Enjoy. We did and we are Hooked on the place and I would WALK there tomorrow,we enjoyed it that much.

The resort was very quiet not much entertainment around only a few pubs.
The beach was rocky and lots of jelly fish present in the sea.

Qawra is really a place to stay rather than holiday in. The bus station means that it is easy to get around Malta on the fantastic fun local buses which are the only way to travel!
We were on the edge of the season so many of the entertainments were not open yet and there are not any beaches to speak of in Qawra.

we went in feb, so it wasn't the same as in the summer, when it's great. the resort was quiet, not as many bars and restaurants open and the ones that were were quiet. it certainly wasn't beach weather! but we did walk on it.

we went in feb as we love malta, wanted to get away for a chill, hire a car and explore and see everything it's too hot to do when we go in july.

so for us it was a fantastic holiday, just what we wanted.

malta itself is lovely hence why i kept going back but after taking three generations to malta our experiance the last time has really put all of our party off returning. even when one of our party was robbed previously she returned as we were going she was marched to the police station while on crutches to report the robbery, the manager and the police both laughed while i was reporting the robbery on a screwed up piece of paper that was one of many robberies that we know of. we all met in malta so we like to meet up in malta but after this experiance none of us want to go back. the hotel really is the hotel from hell he has got away with this for far to long something needs to be done.

Our hotel was in an area where there were lots of narrow streets which were dimly lit. Going out at night was a bit off putting due to likelihood of stepping into dog poo. During the day there was no problem , the bus terminal was just a short walk away. No, I wouldn't recommend this resort and neither will I return.

Not much point in bringing children here,as there are no proper beaches, only concrete bathing platforms. That said, this is a lovely country, with great people, who are always very helpful.Everywhere we went,we noticed clean paths, and plenty of seats if you wanted a rest from your wanderings.

2nd time have stayed at this resort, and it was cleaner than our first visit less stray cats and dog poo about, shame about the touts who are a real pain, but do go away after a polite "no thanks"
Bus station couple of minutes walk away with buses available to all areas of malta, and good prices driving can be a bit hairy at times but just adds to the fun!!
Good carparking area to front of hotel if you have hired a car.
About 10 minutes walk into main square area with plenty of resturants to chose from, bit noisy at times, quite fun to watch the locals watching the tourests thou lol.
If that's to far for you plenty of places around the hotel to eat
If the males in your party like mine cann't cope without their football fix there are plenty of bars showing english football league games and have boards outside giving info on which games they will be showing.
The man made beach is small but ok although we were quite happy around the rocks as plenty of places to swim, never noticed any problems where we were.

qwara is a very quiet resort in general.the hotel was within walking distance of some really good bars and restaurants.swings lounge is a really cheap place foe a drink if you want a laugh with your drink go to haniabels he does a very good line in kareoke and his style of entertainment.for a decent pub meal go to the welcome inn and chaplins on the sea front.the beach front even though it had no sand was very good you can hire sun beds and brollys from all the beach side hotels. i would visit this resort again as ifound it very friendly.
