I've put together the following quick reference guide detailing the aircraft types commonly used by the main holiday charter airlines, and some of the more popular scheduled airlines, and where to find further information. The aim is to provide a quick reference to frequently asked questions. The airline topics are still open for questions, but this quick reference guide will provide the basics. Airlines operate a variety of aircraft in many configurations so it's impossible to provide information for all airlines here. Please use this guide to provide the basic information regarding your flight. If you have any specific aircraft questions that are not covered or answered here, we'll try our best to provide the information on the dedicated airline topics. IFE = In-flight Entertainment. Thomas Cook Airlines (TCX/MT):
Long-haul: Airbus A330-200. Configuration (A330-200 two class): Economy 2-4-2 (rear 5 rows 2-3-2) with 33" seat pitch, Premium Economy 2-3-2 (rows 1-7) with 35" seat pitch. Seat back IFE throughout. A330-200 all economy; 2-4-2 with 31" seat pitch and seatback IFE. The Boeing 767-300/ER fleet (see short haul) are used as rescue aircraft when an Airbus A330-200 is non-serviceable, for example a technical problem. Some Canadian flights (eg Toronto) are operated by Boeing 757-200 (ETOPS / 187 seats). Configuration: 3-3 with 34" seat pitch, IFE via CRT screens over the isle. Some flights in the summer season, eg Sanford (Orlando) are operated by Airbus A330-300. Configuration: Forward ecomony cabin 3-3-3 (rows 1-12) with 32" seat pitch. Centre and rear cabins 2-4-2 with 29" seat pitch. IFE provided via screens over the isles.

Short haul: Boeing 757-200/300, Airbus A320-200, Airbus A321-200. Configuration: All economy 3-3 with 28" seat pitch. IFE via ceiling mounted screens over the isle (757-200) or drop down LCD screens over the seats (757-300 / A321-200. No IFE on the A320-200). Boeing 767-300/ER. Configuration: All economy 2-4-2 with 29" seat pitch, IFE via CRT screens over the isles (standby aircraft for long haul rescue flights). Airbus A330-300. Configuration: Forward ecomony cabin 3-3-3 (rows 1-11) with 32" seat pitch. Centre and rear cabins 2-4-2 with 29" seat pitch. IFE provided via screens over the isles.

Thomson Airways (TOM/BY):
Long haul: Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. Configuration: 2-3-2 in Premium Economy (47 seats) with 38" seat pitch. Economy 3-3-3 with *33" or 34" seat pitch (244 seats, *further seating information here) and seat plan here. Seat back IFE throughout. Ex-Thomsonfly Boeing 767-304/ER. Configuration: Economy 2-4-2 with 33" seat pitch, Premium Economy 2-3-2 with 37" seat pitch. Seat back IFE throughout.

Short haul: Boeing 737-800. Configuration: 3-3 with 28" seat pitch. Extra space seating with 34" seat pitch are available on rows 3/4/5, in addition to extra legroom seating on rows 15 and 16. Boeing 757-200. Configuration: 3-3 with 28" seat pitch. Extra space seating with 34" seat pitch are available on rows 9/10/11, in addition to extra legroom seating on rows 12 and 32. IFE via ceiling mounted screens over the isle (757-200) or drop down LCD screens over the seats (737-800). Boeing 767-304/ER. Configuration: 2-4-2 throughout with 29" seat pitch. IFE via seat back screens. IFE was withdrawn on all short haul flights on 1st November 2011. PSP's are available for hire on mid-haul flights with a selection of movies and programmes for £7.50. 767-300's normally only show the flight map, no entertainment. Pre-bookable inflight meals were withdrawn on 1st November 2011 on short haul flights[/b]. Food is available for purchase onboard, example menu (Summer 2014) is here.

Monarch Airlines (MON/ZB):
Long haul: Airbus A330-200. Configuration: Economy 3-3-3 (rear 8 rows 2-3-2) with 30" seat pitch (seats A/B and J/K rows 37-43 are extra legoom, 34"), IFE via ceiling mounted CRT screens over the isles. Premium Economy 2-4-2 with 34" seat pitch, seat back IFE.

Short haul: Boeing 757-200. Configuration: 3-3 with 28" seat pitch, IFE via ceiling mounted screens over the isle. Airbus A320-200, Airbus A321-200. Configuration: 3-3 with 28" seat pitch, Monarch Plus 34" seat pitch, IFE via drop down LCD screens over the seats. Airbus A330-200. Configuration: Economy 3-3-3 (rear 8 rows 2-3-2) with 30" seat pitch, IFE via ceiling mounted CRT screens over the isles. Premium Economy (rows 1-7 sold as extra legroom only on short haul) 2-4-2 with 34" seat pitch, seat back IFE. IFE was withdrawn from all short / medium haul flights operated by narrow bodied aircraft from 1st June 2012.

Onur Air (8Q/OHY):
Airbus A320/1-200. Configuration: 3-3 with 30" seat pitch. No IFE (cabin photo). Seating plan here. Odd flights, particularly towards the end of the season from regional airports McDonnell Douglas MD-88. Configuration: 3-2 with 30" seat pitch. No IFE.

Ryanair (FR/RYR):
Boeing 737-800. Configuration: 3-3 with 30" seat pitch. Seating plan here. No IFE. For more information, refer to Ryanair's website.

Easyjet Airlines(U2/EZY):
Airbus A319/A320/A321 or Boeing 737-700 (being phased out). Configuration: 3-3 with 29-30" seat pitch. No IFE (exception - longer flights using ex-GB Airways A320/1). For more information, refer to Easyjet's website. Seating plans: Airbus A319-100, Airbus A320-200, Airbus A321-200, Boeing 737-700.

Jet2.com (LS/EXS):
Boeing 737-300 on short flights, Boeing 737-800 or Boeing 757-200 on longer flights, eg Canary Islands or higher density short flights. Configuration: 3-3 with 30" seat pitch. No IFE. Seating plans; Boeing 737-300,

Air Europa (UX/AEA): Chartered by some tour operators
