thankyou leisurelad you have been really helpful the link you mentioned hasnt shown can you put it back on again i have the original goldtrail confimation invoice with monarch flights never have i recieved another showing amendments! only on OTB Web site

This was the one whereby an agent had written to the travel trade magazine querying Goldtrails flights and times !!! It even got letter of the week.

It may help your case if you are taking it up with ABTA and also why you haven't officially been advised by OTB that your flights had changed when Goldtrails Greek flights were changed back before the summer started !!

im still waiting to hear from ABTA and have emailed OTB forum to see if they can sort out the fact they are now saying we dont have hold luggage have forwarded a letter as well worst thing i ever did was book a holiday with them and i certainly wouldnt have chosen viking airlines either the whole idea of choosing your flights this way is freedom to pick carrier and times and YET i ended up being put on the cheapest no frills airline any way and to be at the airport for 0300hrs marvelous!! that minor detail is left till youved booked and paid some money and the fees to cancel cost more than the flight excellent customer service dont you agree ........makes my blood boil :banghead:

Turkey specialist fails

Turkey specialist Goldtrail Holidays has gone into administration, with 16,000 customers overseas.

The failure comes after some speculation in the industry that the company, which also sells holidays to Greece, was having financial problems.

Goldtrail Holidays has UK offices in New Malden, Surrey, and had been in business since 1996.

It claimed to be the largest independent tour operator to Turkey.

It also has four offices in Turkey and a complete overseas representative service, including a 24-hour service line.

Last Spring, it was the subject of a damaging expose of some of its Turkish properties on the BBC consumer affairs programme Watchdog.

In the programme, customers complained about poor health and safety standards at some of its supplier hotels.

The year before, the company paid out £120,000 to nine people who claimed they had caught legionnaires' disease from their hotel showers.

In the same year, it was also fined £11,000 by ABTA for last-minute changes to flights and accommodation.

In 2009, Goldtrail claimed it took 250,000 clients to Turkey.

Unfortunately these situations are never easy at the best of times, but are even more problematic and frustrating when they develop outwith normal office hours and going into a weekend.

I usually book with goldtrail, I am glad I booked with Thomas Cook this time, I could never complain about gold trail I travelled with them on numerous occasion.

They where changed from Onur Air to Sky Airlines 3 weeks ago.

We now travel a day later than the original booking.

Holidays4U are ATOL bonded so you may well be covered by the CAA but it may take some time to get a refund. Any flights operated by Goldtrail have been cancelled.

I would get onto holidays4u as soon as they open at 9.30

I still dont understand. According to the news,Goldtrail.Sunmar and Goldtrail holidays are the travel companys effected.

Are you saying Holidays4U travel company are operated by Goldtrail ?
