We went on our first cruise on the Oriana last year. First impressions were the ship was outdated. The sail away party was like a kids birthday party, and at 40 me and my partner were the youngest. If you like quizzes, bowls and ballroom dancing it's great. Seriously though, we went for a relaxing time, and that is exactly what we got.

Friendly staff, good British style pub and the food was excellent. Being someone who lives at 100 miles an hour and never letting myself fully relax, the first couple of days were weird, but waking up to a new port nearly every other day, waking early to walk quietly, have a casual breakfast, and a few pages of a good book without getting interrupted were a real treat. The spa was lovely, I had a fire and ice pedicure and manicure which was well worth the £84 it cost.

The Oriana is a quaint, pretty little ship...go on you wont be disappointed.

WOW!! what can i say. This was our first ever cruise and i was amazed! we stayed 2 nights on this magnificant ship from southampton to bruges in blazing sunshine. The ship was very clean and staff worked hard to keep it that way. our cabin was very spacious and clean with a balcony which was lovely to watch the world go by on. Food was exceptionally good and we were all well looked after. the waiter talked to the children and treated them like royalty and never forgot their names dispite there being nearly 200 children onboard! staff in general were very friendly and happy. The entertainment was excellent too. Iv never felt so well looked after.
my only disappointment was having to go home

From the minute we set foot on board we could not fault anything. The room was immaculate and was spotlessly clean. We stayed in a superior cabin with balcony. Rooms were serviced twice a day. Food was absolutely delicious but must say I personally felt a little uncomfortable with how much we were waited on especially placing napkins onto your lap for you. Cannot fault the staff all very polite and friendly. The entertainment was also excellent, a choice for everyone. Don't hesitate to book on this ship, you won't regret it. We only went on a 2 day taster so we will be booking a full cruise in the future.

hi all ..we joined the ship on the 12/02/2011 very good check in so easy.
did not use the main dinning areas just went to the conservatory for every meal (suited us for what we wanted to do )the meals in there were ok not special but ok.the staff who manned the area were very helpful with many a smiling face every day .
ship staff ..the reception team ..i have never in all my years of of being on cruise ships come across such a wonderful group of people on the front desk so happy, helpful and always ready to talk and smile can not praise them enough so well trained and so well led .
the cabin was small but kept well supplied and very clean thank you .
now the down side....entertainment the cruise director was the worse i have ever come seen thats when we did see him (he was the invisible man )his deputy k.... never knew what it was to smile (was she afraid of cracking her face she was so miserable at all times the only two entertainment officers who did their jobs correctly were ..jemma and emma very well done you two you knew what your jobs where you made our time with enjoyable ....the other four you know who you are where disgraceful you are plainly in the wrong jobs your cruise director should have been about to see how poor you are ..either retrain them or replace them .the cruise its self after a bad start due to the weather (storms etc) was fantastic and the 36 nights passed to quickly we loved the ship .johndoe

We had the best holiday ever sailing from San Fransisco to Australia. Absolutely wonderful crew.

The band was wonderful best ever. The only thing that spoilt our holiday, not allowed to relax do our own thing and dance. The two dancing teachers a husband and wife team, just like on hello hello, all those years ago. They were dreadful constantly there condemning and instructing. We usually enjoy ballroom dancing not that trip in fact I would not go on another cruise if they were there to ruin out evenings.

Just returned from an excellent 16 night cruise on Oriana, for a family with two children aged 9 and 4 it was fantastic, the kids club is brilliant the staff work tirelessly to make the kids holiday brilliant, it is the only place i have ever been where the children have'nt wanted to come home. In fact I never saw my eldest child from breakfast ntil bedtime, he made fantastic friends.
This obviously meant my husband and myself could enjoy some time together. The food was brilliant the service excellent, the cleanliness of the ship was without question.
The entertainment was varied and I believe something for all ages.

The cleaners and painters were at it 27/7 to ensure the ship is very clean and tidy.Cabin boy Mac was excellent allways polite and willing to help. Our main restaurent servers were attentive and polite and explained what was in the meals.Bar staff friendly and prompt also the entertainment team allways cheerful and buzzing around especially Mizzy, what energy she has. Some good quizzes in the Lords Tavern and enjoyed the cricket games on sea days. The best tour we did was the Nevis sail away from St Kitts this is a fantastic day and would do it again given the chance. All in all a great cruise on a great ship.
