A couple of friends flew from Gatwick with Air Atlanta down to Turkey last September and said they were quite good. They use Boeing 747-200 and -300 aircraft. I'm sure your flights will be fine.

This is what thwy look like:

The Orlando flights from Manchester with Virgin are operated by Air Atlanta Europe, but operate as a normal Virgin Atlantic flight, with there colour scheme, and service level as the a/craft is a former Virgin plane, and the service is pretty much the virgin norm. The AAE flight only operates to 30april, then Virgin take it over in there own right on the 1st may with a Boeing 747-400.

Air Atlanta Europe in there own right is a different story, i have heard good and bad reports about them, but there ontime performance is pretty shocking see the CAA/AUC website http://www.caa.co.uk/default.aspx?categoryid=306&pagetype=90&pageid=1591 and click on news for 8 march.

It depends where you are flying from. What Goldeneye said is true for the VS flights from Manchester, I'm not sure about other airports though. Air Atlanta lease VS 2 747-200's (G-VBEE and G-VSSS) which are in full VS colours. However, these have been sold to somewhere in Russia I beleive. G-VBEE has already gone and G-VSSS will be gone by the end of April. This service is being replaced with Virgins own 747-400's. G-VSSS is the only Air Atlanta Aircraft in the VS colours (maybe you'll be on this one).

The other aircraft used by VS are in Air Atlanta Europe colours (as per the photo's I posted earlier). I'm not sure who crews then, but I'm sure you'll have a pleasent flight regardless.

These are photo's of the Air Atlanta in VS colour. Look closely at the closeup of the nose, and you'll see the Air Atlanta decal:

Details of the aircraft are shown on their web site:

Flew with Air Atlanta from Man to Sanford in October. Flight delayed about 3hrs. 1 hour in dep lounge and 2hrs on plane. When we arrive at Sanford - had to wait about 30 mins on plane before they opened doors. It was an ok flight- food was ok but entertainment wasn't up to much as we couldn't see tv screen- not very good with kids. Last time we went to USA we took a 1 stop flight with US airways[brilliant] and it didn't take as long but at the end of the day it's what's at the end that counts. Good luck

I believe that we will be ok flying to Florida as it is really still a Virgin flight but in someone else's plane, it is when we fly back from Cyprus in June that I am worried about because it is the European arm of this company, Air Atlanta Europe that gets the bad reports, long delays, crap planes etc etc.

Anybody else going to be on Flight EUK 477 on the 26th June from Paphos to Manchester?

Clare.

We flew back with them Paphos - Gatwick last summer (Aug), flew out with excel. Flight back was delayed by 6/7 hours, due to two planes having faults. We finally flew back on a jumbo jet, very comfortable flight, good staff and food, just a BIG pain about the delays. Difficult to find out information about the delay at Paphos once past the check in. On arrival at Gatwick had an extremely very long wait for luggage as there was then apparently trouble offloading our luggage out of the plane hold!

Hi, we are not flying with Air Atlanta but have had our flights changed to Sharm from Manchester to Air Scandic (book thru Libra holidays and should have been flying with Excel) I have not read any glowing reports about them either. Maybe its a Manchester thing!!

Is this a new route from Manchester ? because there does not seem to be many (if any) reviews about this route. Here is a link that has several other reviews about Air Atlanta Europe.

I would not worry too much, my daughter was cabin crew with them last year and she was happy enough to fly with them, the planes maybe old but they are safe.

Hello,

We flew between Gatwick and Sanford Intl. Flights both ways were clean and tidy, good service and meals. Can't fault the company.

Hi all
I'm off to the Hilton Sharks Bay Resort for 2 weeks on the 14 August - booked through Panorama Holidays. My booking details show flights with Excel Airways but after searching for further info, have found that Air Atlanta Europe cover this service.
Does anyone know anything about this? Has anyone flown with Air Atlanta before and if so what are thier planes like? I've read that they are falling apart and not good for those who have a fear of flying - which includes me!!!

they use 747-200 aircraft and as far as i know the interiors are alittle aged and they are often in maintainance. i wouldnt worry too much though the planes have to be certified as safe to fly etc !

air atlanta own 50%ish of excel airways, it may be a 747 aircraft which is operated by air atlanta or one which is leased to excel which has air atlanta flight deck but excell crew...depends on your flight number is it xla of euk
