Pursuantto the recent announcement by Barbados’ Prime Minister, The Honourable Mia Amor Mottley, QC, MP, in the Mini Budget of June 11, 2018, legislation has now been passed to give effect to the imposition of the Airline Travel and Tourism Development Tax.

The Government of Barbados is currently in the process of filing this new tax with the International Transport Association Enhancement and Financing Facility in order to affect the charging of this new tax on tickets sold and issued on or after October 1, 2018.

This new tax will not be collected at the Airport and will be added to your holiday.

Ques. 1: When will the Barbados Airline Travel and Tourism Development Tax take effect?

Answer: The Barbados Airline Travel and Tourism Development Tax will be effective application on all tickets sold from October 1st on wards for travel on or after October 1st, 2018.

Ques. 2: How much is this Tax?

Answer: This tax is BBD 140 per international passenger and BBD 70.00 per regional passenger travelling to Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica,
Montserrat, Saint Lucia, St Kitts and Nevis, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Turks and Caicos Islands.
