restricting supply in order to support elevated prices.

Not at all - good business practice.

A very simple analogy - if you are a family of four do you cater for eight?

If you were to look at their business plan and sales forecast for 2008 then they may still finish up with unsold holidays.

There is a financial squeeze and holidays will be one of the casualties.

I complety agree that Travel sector will have difficult time of things especially from the 2nd quarter onwards.

With that in mind, their tactics of inflating prices & restricting supply is not necessarily good business practice with the current/forward soft market conditions as you point out.
