I'm taking Euros and my Nationwide cash card (no commission) to use in an the ATM's this year as we had difficulty finding anyone to cash travellers cheques in Cala Blanca-we ended up having to do it in a hotel which charged mega commission.

Suppose it depends where your staying. We took euros and english ran out so changed english into euros in the square at Salgar same rate no commision to pay.

Try travelexuk on internet...I got my euros at a rate of 1.40 today, you collect at the airport and they don't charge anycommission or fees. I was £12 better off as I usually use the Post Office over here. SON PARC here we come ! :D

I had a mix of euros and euro traveller cheques. Looking back I should have taken the lot in euros.

Most big shops and many restaraunts will accept traveller cheques as cash. Ask first as some don't.
