We went in August year CSR opened no problem with mossies then Oct same year ,again no prob with mossies, but last year we went in July and my sister and I really got bitten, however a good trick is to take antihistimines a week before you go and when you are there, boots own make or tescos are good, non drowsy and cheap, I am going aug this year but am still gonna take them and my daughter.

) ... Are there any kinds of drinks that are NOT available at the coral sea? I was quite looking forward to a margarita or three but i'm not sure if they do them as i've heard no mention of tequila. Don't get me wrong, i'm happy with a beer, but i've got to say...I'm curious! Can anyone help?

Has anyone got back recently and been diving with Aquarius at csr ?
My son passed his padi seal when we were there in October and wants to do more diving his 12 , wondered what would be the next stage or what would be available for him ?
Is Eloise M still a diving instructor there? she was fantastic !!

HelloWe are going to Coral Sea Resort in August for two weeks
Can any one tell me what drinks are we allowed ?
Do they serve cocktails Malibu vodka etc etc
Is the coffee nice ? or shall wetake a jar off nescafe ?
Any info would be gratefull
Also what soft drinks do there serve.
Malibu, ah my malibu if you have that at your hotel and cider i will be visiting you!!!!!
Sorry that isnt answering your post....In resort they only seem to have a limited amount of alcohol, so even i havent found my favourite tipple, and not likely too as they do not seem to sell it. They sell wine and beer though. At your hotel maybe its different, but not likely. This is why i wrote a post a few days ago asking if i could bring it from the airport (duty free).

try to answer!! Coffee is ok, best is when the bar opens at 10 and the cappuccinos are great!! you can get them AI all day! Malibu not sure about as I don't drink it but there were lots of pineapple based cocktails flying around when we were there! Loads of soft drinks..all the cokes and lemonades but also apple, pineapple, guava, orange juices as well as the fruit juice in the machines all day..my two teenangers had no complaints!
All mine did PADI open water diver aged 13, 16 and very old! I would think at 12 as long as he / she can pass the swimmming bits that would be OK. Why not e mail them? they were really helpful at Aquarius when we did. We had Hossam who was brilliant! They loved it!

We too are returning to CSR this xmas - staying for a month (6 Dec - 3 Jan) - cannot wait as had such a fantastic time last time we went. There will be 13 of us all together (2 families) as I managed to talk my friend into coming along with her kids!! How many in your group? Any divers as my hubby and 13 year old son are PADI qualified and will be making the most of the Red Sea! Big mixture of ages in our group from 40 down to 10 years. This will be our first Xmas away as well but have heard that the Galas are great. This site is a great source of information and really helped last time we went.
