Looking at visiting Famagusta when we are over in October. Understand we can cross over at Azios Nikolaos, Strovilia, or Akyar - Have been told you can park the car there and take a taxi into town. Will they accept Euroes? Any information would be welcome. Normally cross over when we visit Nicosia.

I haven't been over the border from those points, but yes they are happy to accept Euros in the North!
They'll take Euros and Sterling, and probably US Dollars.
Euros are your best bet though

We have crossed at the crossing point at Ayias Nicolaos a few times. Have to say I haven't noticed any taxis waiting, but thats not to say that they aren't.
We have found it cheaper with todays exchange rates, to pay in Lira, there are loads of places eager to change money.
Most places (all?) work on a 2:1 basis. ie 2TL=€1, but yes, they do take Euros
