I would change a little here just to put you over and then change money as when needed when you are there as the rate can change very quickly.

We changed £50 on night when we where there 2 weeks ago walked out of the change office and stood talking for a few minutes turned to walk away and the bloody rate and gone up,that's how quick it can change!

The last time we used travellers cheques we where charged commission but i have read on here that some change office don't charge any more.

I go in a week and I have changed my money 50/50.

chatting to my mother that lives in turkey the rate seems a bit better over there, it was around 2.62 ish over there last week and i only got 2.45 when i changed a small amount at post office the other day. yes you can use euros they accept most currencies
