You will probally find that you will be able to board altogether however that you should I find absolutely diabolical, in saying that I mean you you personally no disrespect and can not blame you for taking advantage. last year I returned from Tenerife with a broken shoulder and required special assistance, which allowed me to board after the speedy boarders a party with one small child accompanied by Grandma and Grandad pushed in front of me, the Grandma taking over, Grandad was very embarrassed and offered to carry my hand baggage. If these people require special treatment then they should pay for speedy boarding. My wife and I travelling together elect not to pay and take the risk of not sitting together as I think Grandma and Grandads should do.
That's what I was thinking, I would feel a bit bad with all of us going up just because one of my children is under 5. I think maybe they will book speedy boarding then they can get on first and we will go on after.
If your parents booked separately, and therefore have a different booking reference, they should not be able to board with you at the gate but they will be able to book speedy boarding.
I've always found this 5 year old rule quite strange - who wants to babysit someone else's 6 year old on a plane!?
Unless it's changed since I booked my flights for May/June, the hand luggage allowance is one piece max dimensions 55x45x25 plus one standard carrier bag of items bought after security.
where have you read that? I've never seen reference to after security shopping being allowed extra anywhere on the easyjet website and it certainly doesn't mention it now in any of the (at least) three places it gives the one bag limit.
Thanks Carol, they have their own booking reference so it's best if they book speedy booking then. Problem solved
My September flights have are now on the FOURTH version of the times. I only discovered the first amendment (three weeks ago) by chance whilst checking status on a different booking, never got an email so don't know when it was changed. A few days later an email turned up with version 3 and now I've found they've changed again sometime this week but again no email. And before you say it, I do check my Spam filter every day and it saves Spam for 14 days before deleting.
yes i checked mine ages ago and my return flights had changed, they only e-mailed me a couple of days ago about the cahnges.
Hand Baggage
From April 5th we have updated our pricing policy for hold luggage and for oversized cabin baggage that needs to be checked into the hold.
The following charges apply:
At the airport check-in desk: If you purchase a bag to be checked into the hold and/or we notice that your cabin bag exceeds the maximum allowed dimensions, you will be charged £25 per bag
At the boarding gate: If you go directly to the boarding gate and your one permitted item of cabin baggage exceeds the maximum allowed dimensions you will be charged £40 and your bag will be checked into the hold
Remember: easyJet allows one item of hand baggage into the cabin per person; maximum dimensions are 56 x 45 x 25 cm.
To keep our fares low, be able to board the plane as quickly as possible and ensure your comfort onboard, if you bring more than one piece of hand baggage we'll check the extra piece into the hold. Hand bags, briefcases, laptops and laptop bags are all counted as one piece, so if you have a trolley and, for example, an additional hand bag or laptop bag you'll be asked to put those items into your trolley bag. If you can't consolidate your cabin baggage into one single item, one of your bags will be checked into the hold and we will have to charge you £40. We do this to ensure that we don't delay the boarding process and bring everyone to their destination on time.
....... sounds as if they're having a crackdown and will be applying the rules strictly from now on (but I'd rather that than an increase in fares!

Hi, we are flying with easyjet in June and I was wondering if it there was any point checking in online as we have booked speedy boarding?
It depends if you're checking-in luggage or not. If you're traveling hand luggage only, then online check-in is the way to go to save having to queue to check-in. If you're checking-in baggage, then it's not much of a time saver really.

EasyJet increases card booking fees,
He gets very anxious about the whole travelling bit, but he loves the holiday itself. What help should I expect at the airport from Easyjet?
Regards
I suggest that you should ask Easyjet for SPECIAL ASSISTANCE for either your party or just you and your child which means you will board with early after those who have paid to board first so you can choose a seat and get your child settled.
It might be helpful if you could explain everything that's happening around him - running commentary - and perhaps the cabin crew might just chat to him a bit once they've got into level flight mode. You know your child best, and can encourage him to read/watch a DVD if you have a portable player/play a game, and of course perhaps buy something from the onboard kiosk in the way of a snack or a drink.
http://buyonboard.easyjet.com/ for food and drink - to see if there are any personal favourites or whether you'll have to bring your own snacks .... though sometimes not all food is carried or certain items might have run out before the trolley gets to you ...
http://www.easyjet.com/EN/Flying/inflightmagazine.html for the inflight magazine to see if there's anything in the way of pictures or games that might be of interest to your child
Easyjet flights for March 2012 are now published and bookable on the website
I know for certain that one of my party wont be traveling on a Easyjet flight Manchester-Malaga at a peek time.I understand, please correct me if I am wrong I would have to rebook everybody to try and take any advantage of the missing person/flight
take advantage ? Even for solo passengers there's often little point in trying to get a refund of lower early booking prices due to the admin charges. To take somone else it would be a name change, that will also cost but may be worth it if it is peak flight - and should be possible within the existing booking.
what do you mean Just wanted to point out that for some people booking via Nectar and using your Nectar points can be advantageous despite the £7.00 booking fee that Nectar charge.
We booked flights from Edinburgh to Basel in September and saved ourselves a bit of money using Nectar points. It would appear that the "add ons" are significantly cheaper using Nectar. Obviously this may not be the case on all flights.
For example, if I had booked direct with Easy Jet I would have paid £50 for two hold bags (£25 each) and £32 for speedy boarding (£16 each). Whereas via Nectar I paid £36 for the hold bags (£18 each) and £20 for speedy boarding (£10 each).
My total booking via Nectar was £147.96 plus the £7 booking fee compared to £173.96 if I had booked direct with Easy Jet
good info - thanks. I think you will find the Nectar booking fee (£7) is also less than Easyjets booking fee (£8). Easyjet dont charge if you have electron etc - cards that most people no longer have !
