As I've had black cab drivers get lost in Edinburgh and/or needed me to direct them to suburban addresses in Edinburgh in the past, I'm not sure that their knowledge of the topography of city is any more reliable than anybody else's. They all seem to rely on satnav these delays!

it was me only giving people a heads up to what's happened at Edinburgh airport, they can take it or leave it...not for your experience.

I was up there in February. I flew with easyJet from Gatwick, and once at Edinburgh airport took the airport bus (100) to the city centre and than hopped in a taxi to my b&b, taxi as it late (after 9pm) and it felt the best way. I was only up there for a long weekend and visited St Mary's Close, went up Scott's Monument and checked out the Camera Obscura to get in touch with my inner child (not that it's ever gone away). Did some shopping too.
I was lucky with the weather though, sunshine on the Saturday, overcast on Sunday, but a wind when I flew backon Monday, and my flight was bit delayed coming back and the gate number kept been pushed back etc and it was a tadge bumpy up to a certain point once up there, but nothing too bad.
I needed the break back in February as I had had a rough few months.

Tram Update....

Trams to be running by May 2014 (Finally!!!)
Roadworks are going to be cleared by 19th October (Again Finally!)

And the pricing structure will be

£1.50 adult/70p child within the City
£2.50/£1.50 from Airport/Ingliston to Gogarburn
£2.50 Ingliston Park and Ride to City
£7.50/£4 return for the Airport from the City. Bus will be quicker and cheaper

New Haymarket station is going to be finished by Christmas as well.

that's nearly right...its if they have no more problems, (think I could put a bet on they will) and the million and one tests go OK, it might even be before that .

Edinburgh Trams will start passenger services on May 31st.
