We tend to buy sandwiches from Pret a Manger is there is one to take on the plane.
I can't believe how many people are munching on hard boiled eggs at the airport/on the plane......no wonder I always get in the slip stream of a stinky fart!

If you see anyone eating a hard boiled egg Phil you must make sure you aren't sitting next to them or you may need a clothes peg!
OMG am guilty of the hard boiled egg
with a packet of crisps. Thing with hard boiled eggs and crisps is that they don't go squishy or 'melt'. I've sometimes ate mine when I've got to the resort and are as good as new!
My friend and I were on a flight to somewhere or other and some football team were on our flight, we were sat in the middle of them ie some in front some behind. After the flight had taken off we got out our eggs
'Phwoar, said one of them, who's got hard boiled eggs'

By the sounds of it northants it's Glynis I need to avoid! Lol
I don't think the better half would appreciate me taking hard boiled eggs, I don't need to fuel the fire if you know what I'm saying lol

That wasn't nice was it Glynis you always behave yourself don't you?
I normally take egg sarnies on my flights, and the people next to me try to ignore the smell as I open them up
It's even better, if they are egg and smoked salmon!!!
I flew home this morning, and bought egg mayo sandwiches at the airport, but didn't feel hungry on the plane, so my fellow passengers were saved the smell! I'm sitting eating them as I type this, and very nice they are too - and very messy!!

Just come back from holiday to Benalmadena and must admit to missing those flight meals, yes I know they did not meet up to everyones approval - but they filled the gap. Thomson are now serving snacks, which involve toastie sandwichs baggetts pringles, nuts etc but gone are the flight meals on a tray - shame
Toni,
I guess everyone is cutting their costs, which is a shame. Although that said I never really book a meal for short haul flights im too busy being used as a pillow for the better half lol
Madsue,
Egg sarnies sound alright! I do enjoy an egg mayo sandwich
Did you have a nice trip?
Phil

I have always booked a meal though Phil as mainly travel with Thomson and do like them - but sadly they had done away with the shorthaul meals - but I get one next year woo hoo on the DREAMLINER (ask me if I am excited....YEP).. And the pillow I travel solo, so can't normally use chappy/chappess as pillow or them use me as might get arrested
You do seem very excited
LOL it's worth a try! You might be able to use each other as pillows?

We had a bacon baguette and chips on our flight home with Thomsons a fortnight ago and they were really nice I think they were £5.50 they smelt so nice when we got on the plane we couldn't resist them.
I need to remember my TK sachets and possible my little butter things that I raid if I get to many of them in the supermarket cafe/food court. It's all well buying food but if you can't open the TK then well it's not as good.
I don't usually carry food with me as I usually forget to buy stuff and going to buy stuff would mean walking down past the bus to then walk back up the hill for the Airport Bus.
Completely different for Trains as I will buy stuff and buses for the trains go from by the shop too.
