Quite a few of our friends and ourselves sett off home yesterday, One using the morning Monarch so called "flight", arrived in Manchester about one and a half hours late, got stuck on the tarmac with " smoking brakes", waited there for a tug, then waited for a bus transfer, rounded up nicely with a 40 min wait for the luggage. Result being she missed the flight up to Scotland and had to stump up about another £80 for the last flight there. Oh and the flight out two weeks earlier was 2.00 hrs late too. Lots of people, including herself, saying this is once too many, pastures new next year. The smarter ones like us went schedule. We spent a hot and sticky few hours waiting for the congestion at Mumbai to clear, our friends fared worst, eight hours after arriving at Dabolim they arrived at Mumbai in time to miss the 8.00 pm flt of Emirates, to Dubai, they then had to sit in the airport all night to see if they could get on to our 4.00am flt to Dubai. We fared a little better havig managed a few hours sleep in nearby hotel (4000Rps.) We arrived back at the airport at 2.00 am to enjoy an hours sweaty queueing for the hold baggage sealing and being made to open an allready sealed Dabolim bag to check out an MP3 player. Our friends got on the flight and arrive for the breakfast bit of their B&B. Our seamless journey home then, lasted 28 hrs, thank goodness it's Oz next March, it's a shorter journey time. !! Alan
