I hate it when that happens but it is very common for apartment owners to double book in Turkey. It has happened to me twice!
Yes we arrived very late at night last August at Club Ako apartments Marmaris to discover that the apartments we had booked and paid for months before in April had been double booked and we had a big row with the Turkish manager who tried to fit 5 adults in a one bedroom apartment for the price we had paid for two apartments, one sleeping 3 adults, and the other sleeping two. Eventually he put 3 of us in a one bedroom apartment with a camp bed squeezed in, and my husband and I were put in a room usually utilised by members of staff right next to the bar. We complained but got nowhere, with the manager insisting he would find us rooms at another complex, but that never happened.
Unfortunately we got nowhere when we complained to 'Easyjet holidays' upon our return either.
Heard from other holiday makers when we were there that this does happen quite frequently, but am not sure what sort of legal redress there is for those who find themselves in this position.
Any suggestions?????
