We have stayed at the Hotel Waldstein in the past, which is a short walk from Charles Bridge on the Castle side. We've always found it very convenient but it does depend just how far your husband can walk and what you wish to see. There is the main hotel and the annexe - the annexe (residence Waldstein) is right next to it, the rooms are still good and spacious and I know they have some ground floor rooms (they may have in the main hotel too). It is also a little cheaper than the main hotel. The only slight issue is that breakfast is served down some stairs in the vaulted cellar, so it depends how good your husband is with steps.

Somewhere round the old town square may be more central but I'm afraid I can't help you with any recommendations there. We're going at the same time this year but have booked a hotel near the castle, up the hill and a bit of a walk out of the centre. I hope you manage to find somewhere suitable.

We stayed in the Cloister Inn which is a short walk from Charles Bridge in one direction and the town centre in the other. Bars and restaurants nearby as well.

We've been to Prague 3 times (just about to go for our 4th!) and have always stayed at the Waldstein

You will love it , the roms are fantastic and is the service and breakfast, and you couldnt wish for a better location.

Theres also a wonderful restaurant just across the Mala Strana square called U Mecanese

Have a great time!

I hope you enjoy you stay at the Waldstein, we've always found it comfortable and convenient. It's tucked away in a little square, so relatively quiet too and the rooms were plenty warm enough when we were there in December. We'll be in Prague at the same time but this time we're staying up near the castle - not quite as convenient a location but I've heard good things about Domus Henrici where we're staying this time.

Try the hotel Merkur. It's very reasonably priced, we stayed there 3 years ago and were able to easily walk to wencelas square, Charles bridge etc
