Taxis are very good. Just make sure that they have a yellow roof lamp, with TAXI written in black letters. The registration number & Taxi company should be written on front doors. The meter should be running & you can ask for a receipt. Your hotel might send a taxi for you if you ask. The fare was 30kc boarding fee & 22kc per km within the city limits, but it was a couple of years ago.

Getting from the airport to the city centre has always been a hassle and some of Pragues taxi companies have a bad reputation.

The airport's official guidance is at http://www.prg.aero/en/site/sluzby_letiste/doprava_parkovani/doprava_na_letiste/tarifni_a_smluvni_preprava.htm

There is unofficial guidance at http://www.pragueairport.co.uk/taxi.htm and I don't know whether the prices quoted are completely up to date. This site also explains the shared minibus system (left hand menu option) which may be useful.

Both sites have links to public transport which is hopelessly inadequate! The nearest thing to a proper airport - city express link is run by Czech Railways and is intended for people connecting with onward express trains so goes to Holesovice station which is not convenient for the central hotels.
