First of all I've not been to Italy --- yet
These are some of the things I am aware of
Camping is more expensive there than elsewhere in Europe
Facilities can be a little less than expected
Electric on campsites is of a low amperage (as low as 3amps which is insufficient for my battery charger)
Saying that I know of some reports here from folk who have been though some are a little old
