There are restrictions on weight with all carriers although some are higher than others. You will need to check the website of the airline you are travelling with.

bmi had an allowance of 2 bags up to 32kgs each last year, but this is now 2 bags up to 23kgs so you need to check for the latest information.

With Virgin we were allowed to bring back 4 suitcases We came back with 3 and we were well under limit even though they were fit to bursting.
