I've only ever stayed at the New Bath Hotel. It's quite a charming building and has a kind of faded grandure about it but i'd only recommend if they can guarantee a room in the main building, the annexe rooms are awful.

Friends of mine have stayed at Hodgkinson's Hotel and from their praise it sounds well suited to a special occasion. Apparently there was a very positive review in The Guardian, a google should bring it up. http://www.hodgkinsons-hotel.co.uk/
