Great report! $4.95 for a 2 liter? Only in Las Vegas :really I pay 88 cents where I live.

I know it's daylight robbery....I'm taking lots more with me the next time I can tell you....I'm not paying that again....last time we went it was $3.50 for 2L so it's gone up quite a bit since then

Stock up at a Walmart that is in a suburban area, not in tourist area and I'm sure it will be regular price..

Even $3.50 is outrageous. It should be $1.50 - $2.00 max. I've never seen it higher than that in California.

I think I paid $1.75 for a 500ml bottle of Coke and that was the going rate on the strip.

Absolutely agree. I am still surprised at the difference in prices at WalMart stores. there's a huge one on Eastern Avenue near the airport (which is very convenient for us on the way home from the airport) but the prices there are noticeably higher than the other one we use near Boulder Highway

Glad to see my American Casino Guide is doing its rounds!! Hopefully lots of coupons being used!

Yes, prices in those strip stores are stupid. 500ml cokes are under $2 (not like MGM at $3 which is outrageous). We bought cereal bars and they were $5 for 5 or something rediculous like that! They should only be about $2. Definitely a good idea to stock up off strip if you can. We bought a 1.5 litre of white zin for about $6 off strip at a store called Smith's.

I should be able to look up flights properly soon for next September. Looked them up before and dates didn't go far enough, and they were pricey too! Hopefully will be some sales after New Year.

Hi Lesley

Flights for next year have jumped by about £100 per person. Hope you manage to get something.

No, not booked anything at all, it was v pricey when I looked it up. I wonder if this is just the way it will be - I hope not, I enjoyed getting flights for£400 or so the last few years!!

The dates I'm looking for will only just be out now.

Just looked, Continental £615. Too high, and prefer US airways anyway for our miles and also to avoid Newark. If we change at Newark we'd be tempted to stay a few nights.

Totally not ready to book anyway, still spending on the house - but always a good idea to keep an eye on fares. £400 would be nice :0)

I don't think you will see £400 again. I was put off booking for a while when the fares were over £600 even with 2 stops, but just had to accept that they weren't going to go under that after monitoring them for a while.

Just looked up US Airways and flights are absolutely stupidly price (ie double the normal - I had to think about it, it was thinking it was return prices on the departure dates etc then saw the total!!). Hopefully they'll not sell any (I wouldn't think they'll sell the seats at that price!!), and they'll hopefully have a January sale!

We are hoping to do a couple of days in New York next year before flying on to LV

I think your American Casino Guide is being passed on again by Pebbles....so who knows who'll end up with it....I used several coupons....I may get my own next year though

It was lovely to see you and Al. The boys got on well didn't they? I'm surprised we didn't bump in to you again, because you seem to do similar things to us.

Thanks for the ACG. We used a few coupons (6 or 7) out of it and then passed it on to Norm, who lives in Las Vegas and meets a lot of people from the internet. I didn't know of any Brits coming out, so I thought that would be the best way to keep it being used until the end of the year.

Thanks for taking the time to write a TR.

I'll try to get something done and posted soon.

Ha, that's funny, Norm ended up with it. I just said to Kevin 'guess what local ended up with it?' and he said 'the guy who does the hiking?'. He was right! We met Norm quite a few years back, not seen him for a while. I think we met him at a meet (LVTalk) out at the Orleans. We've not done meets for a few year really, but have met some nice people along the way. We even bumped into one of the girls at Silverton last year, and she's not a local, she's from San Diego! Well...almost a local :rofl

Glad everyone had good trips. Now bring on our 2011 trips!! :cheers

As long as someone gets the use out of it....I think we all benefited greatly from Lesleys ACG
