I would put money on it being a cost issue.
Excel are a big airline so highly unlikely to be going out of business, so oasullyfc, i wouldnt worry to much.

Just thought i'd add my mates flight is also cancelled, it was on the 24th september from manchester. 21.15 ish... XLA 204 V, however they have given them an alternative flight on the previous friday now.
Sounds like there is something in the wind with XL airways.

I'll have a look around now for flights, thing is now they are going to cost more and not sure now if we can afford the difference as we budjeted this last year.
The missus said why they didn't tell her that they were cancelled on Friday last when she rang up to pay the finale payment.
Anyway it's best not worrying about it, I'll have a root round the net now for flights

so sorry that was bad news this morning. try onuair direct on internet. other option look for really cheap package and not use room just tell rep at airport you got somewhere else to stay.

Found some flights with Thomas Cook I think they are TCX £374.00 for the both of us, our original flights were £337.00

Well I've lost a day now on this piggin PC thanks to XL.com who won't be getting our buisness again.
I've just found a great site. If I go with ThomasCook and my original dates it's going to cost us over £50.00 more and possibly a bit more with Credit Card charge.
So I have another option now and that is to Fly out to Dalaman 2 days earlier but come back on the same day as we was going to do in the 1st place, so now we could go for 17 nights and what we save on the flights will pay for 2 extra nights in Icmeler
Just gotta talk her indoors into it and sort out with John Toohey if we can have a room for a couple of nights or it may be possible for us to have the Tuncay 2 days earlier. Fingers crossed.
