Anyone staying in a "Kids Suite"? we're going Oct half term so assume (well hope) that a lot of the glitches flagged here will have been ironed out by then, but am concerned as we have had letter stating change in accommodation set up and are now worried that room will be really small (e.g letter stated that there was only an armchair and no sofa). If anyone stays in one pls can they let me know what the rooms will be like? (e.g sofas/dining table etc)
We also staying self catering so interested in good restaurants nearby and location of sandy beaches, plus recommendations for good car hire. Thanks all!

Thanks for your messages Mandalay, really nice of you to bother. I was never concerned, I stayed in the Portugal Holiday Village in its first season and it was outstanding but I paid less than half the cost of the following years because it was brand new - it's the risk one has to take to get a good deal! If the accommodation is clean and comfortable, the food is really good and the pool is lovely then i'm happy. I've booked a kid's suite for early August. Thanks again for your reassurance Mandalay.

We just booked up yesterday to go to HV Aliathon in Oct 2009 (wanted to make sure we got what we wanted) Have paid £2300 for AI for family of 4. We have booked a superior room as they didn't have any deluxe rooms left Has anyone been yet and stayed in one of these rooms or are going soon so you can let me know what it's like??

We are thinking of booking Aliathion for next year (Aug 2009) but the price slightly puts me off. For a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 girls aged 13 & 9) it would cost me £3776 for a standard apartment and a FREE CHILD PLACE, i think that's quite expensive?

They also offered us a 2 bedroom standard apartment at a cost of £4510 again with a free child place, an extra £750 for another bedroom - were do they get these prices from? Not only are we having to pay extra because we are forced to take our holidays during school term but think they can just squeeze that little bit extra.

Does anyone else think that this price is dear? or have we got a good deal and should snap their hands off?

We're off to Turkey again this year - same place, same Hotel and paid just under £3k for 5 star all inclusive - have we been spoiled?

any comments or advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Yes we did have an iron and ironing board in our apartment but we were in the original part of the hotel and our apartments were obviously used for self-catering aswell as AI so I cannot comment on the new fishing village rooms.
Just to say that you don't need to take adaptors - all plugs are same as UK - but if something does need an adaptor, just ask at reception - they had spares !!

the only way I know of doing it is to open a photobucket account and upload your photos there, each image will be given it's own URL, you can then use the Img button which will then insert some codes into your reply and it's just a matter of pasting the image url's in between the codes.

alternativly send me a pm and i will send you my email address and ill post them.
