I didn't see the program but I do remember many years ago being the receiving end of a reps revenge. I was on an intensive coach tour of Scandinavia with a friend, we both worked in the travel business at the time and had little bitching sessions with each other every day about what the tour guide was doing wrong. Anyhow she took it a step further and had a go at the tour guide it got a bit out of hand with them both shouting at each other. The following day we were leaving Sweden and driving to Denmark, we brought our cases down to the coach as usual but when we arrived in Copenhagen our two cases were missing. The tour guide said we must have put them in the wrong place that morning but we knew the driver counted the cases everyday before putting them on the bus and our cases weren't even together mine was in the middle of some other peoples . We had to suffer for two days without a change of clothing and toiletries, it turned very cold and our coats were in the cases. People did lend us a few things though. We knew it had been done on purpose because the tour guide was mad at being criticised and of course although I had not said anything to him I was guilty by association.
The next few days we always were given the worst rooms in the hotels we stayed in.

hi, i just managed to catch a couple of minutes of that programme so not sure if i got all of this entirely right, but it's where the young girl rep had lots of men old enough to be her father coming on to her, so on one occasion what she did was took their half finished pint into the loos with her and filled it up with her wee and let him drink it unknowingly - dotty

I caught the last few minutes of this programme.

Now some may think it a laugh, but then considering all the complaints we receive here on HT about reps, perhaps it also shows how immature some of them are and how unsuited for the job.

We had three lovely reps the first time we went to Portugal.

Two girls who were the kiddies reps - they were just wonderul, infact my two broke their hearts when they had to say goodbye to them!

Our rep (the main one for the apartments) was a bloke who was engaged to one of the kiddies reps.

They really were brilliant. We'd never had reps like them before, and to get three that were so fab - well - we were just so lucky.

I felt sorry for any that worked there after them because they had such hard acts to follow.

Just browsing through youtube while in the holiday mood and it come to me i remember watching a programme on reps sometime last year it was called "Trust me im a holiday rep." you can catch up on them on youtube.

like neil says no one writes up when a rep is good! plus these programs are like reading a tabloid and expecting it not to be over exagarrated! the week before was chefs...does that mean all chefs are bad? if it was on care workers what do you think would be said? robbin money? abusing old people? would you think all care workers are like that?

id also like to point out that on the program there was a kiddy rep, a cruise ship steward or waiter, a club rep and a reporter no actual holiday rep!

the comedian was speaking about thinks that went on 10 to 15 years ago and they couldnt be done now! the kiddy rep was lying ( drinking someone elses urine makes you vomit immediatly its a natural reaction ) and the others were exagarating.

i will say that some reps are terrible and that some customers get treated badly but so do some reps by customers. yes theyre pushy with trips thats their job and their wages ( look at a adverty for a rep job and they want sales people). but any rep that says hes sent a bag on a different flight is lying or any other story like that. read cy floods trust me im a holiday rep and thats quite truthful.

anyways the best story ive ever heard regarding a rep was one that was getting hassle from a customer who kept saying i pay your wages, the rep then went in his pocket got out 20 cents and said there you go theyres your share back. by the way he was sacked and it would of been a lot less than 20 cents that blokes share lol!!!!

Ive never had a bad Rep, and always give them a good mention when putting a holiday review up!

Perhaps not - but then how many people write to the council and compliment them on the guy who sweeps the road. The person at the shop who served you or even wrote to your boss?

They are employed to do a job. When they do it so your satisfaction you say thanks to them - end off. If they do not then as you are paying for that service you complain.

This makes me sound big headed and I'm not but...

when I worked in a bank I regularly got thank you cards and calls from customers,
as did my boss.
Maybe because I enjoyed my job, (used to love it actually) it showed in my dealings with customers,
I don't know...
