Silverbird,

There are strict laws in Spain regarding the teaching of scuba diving in hyperbaric conditions. This prohibits diving in many areas to under 16's. In some areas of Spain, local laws prohibit even trial dives in swimming pools of 1m!! That's the reason you can't find any dive centres willing to undertake open or confined water dives. It's not a PADI, BSAC etc restriction (they allow teaching to as young as 10 year olds), it's a Spanish law.

We tried Crystal Seas Scuba in Cala'n Bosch and they would not take our children (both under 16).

My son (13) did a scuba diving taster session with the Padi dive school located at the Sol Hotel, Cala Galdana.

He went with his dad and both said instructor was excellent.

Had a theory session to start with then a couple of hours in the water teaching them the basics and then they went a bit further out for a swim.
