Most of the bars & clubs in Salou play mainstream Euro Dance music and bubble gum pop, its not really a good resort for hard core clubbers.
I don't know if you have already booked but if you haven't then you might like to consider Lloret De Mar on the Costa Brava which is well known for its R&B clubs etc. Lloret is much more popular with the 18-30 crowd (mainly from Europe rather than the UK) than Salou is.
Salou is lively but in a proper bucket & spade holiday style.
