Will this not be covered by your travel insurance?
Unfortunately it won’t because the hospital is to do with my mother and it’s my choice to be there for her.
Have you discussed this with your insurance company Juliaanne as most will cover for close family relative? The only thing I'd be dubious about is the fact that it's an appointment rather than an admission into hospital.
Also, if, at the time of booking you were aware your mother was awaiting hospital appointments this will also be a factor with the insurance company.
Their T&C's state that an amendment fee of up to £150pp will be charged & I think you've hit the highest fee due to needing to amend your booking within a short period of your travel date.
