can someone advise please? my sister booked a hotel room with Alpharooms, paid in full and received her accommodation voucher etc. She then received an email a few days later saying they were cancelling this booking due to an error in the price which she had booked if at on their site and will refund the payment taken. They also say she can re-book (at a much higher price). The prices have dramatically rose for the time of year she has booked for,and also any of the cheaper accommodation which was available is now booked. It now seems she and her children will be unable to go on this holiday, as the costs are now ridiculously high for this time.
I have just looked at the terms conditions listed, which appears to cover them for almost everything, yet the customer is liable for penalties should they need to make any changes to the original booking. Is there any legal obligation that should/could make them honour this booking? would appreciate any help.
