Thanks thats what i thought you meant. But i was told when i had the jabs that there wasn't a cut off date and they would work even if given to me short notice!
But hey it wouldn't be the first time i have heard conflicting advice from doctors..
I guess you were told differently, maybe its diff for other jabs? who knows!!!

Hello all, thanks for the replies, been sick so not been able to reply until now.
I'm stopping at a hotel called La Perla, it's in Sharm and that's about as much as I know.
Well it looks as though I'll have to get a jab or two then, I haven't had any, not good at all.

Time to bite the bullet...
Go get the jabs - they are mostly recommended wherever you travel and are even of some benefit back home. Shut your eyes, count to ten and it'll all be over. And make sure you do go for the follow up jabs in 6 mnoths - then you'll be covered for up to ten years and don't have to face the dreaded needle again next time..!

I'm left handed and she did it in my left arm and it was agony. My whole arm went numb and swelled up for about 8 hours and I couldnt lift my arm properly.
I thought I had just had a bad reaction to it, but a friend who had it done last year had the same thing happen.
Dont want to put you off, but just thought i'd advise you!

I hate needles too, had mine done around a month ago and didn't realise that i'd had them done. It's painless and if the missus distracts by talkin then you don't realise.

Similar stoy to me!! I'm 6ft 17 stone (not fat) and didn't fancy the quacks chances. But seriously don't look and you don't feel a thing

And believe me, I have a few tattoos and piercings so i'm used to needles.
Its like a really dull ache through the whole arm, I work in a call centre and couldnt pick up the phone properly!
I wish i'd been warned, I was not prepared!

From the other end of the spectrum.........is anyone NOT having jabs? I'm not, as I read the weren't essential unless travelling from a (yellow fever) infected country.
I've never had them to the Caribbean or the Maldives either.
If I was going to a country where it was 'compulsory' such as the Gambia I believe, then I'd have them, but unless I missed something, I didn't think that was the case with Egypt.

I dont think they are essential, they are recommended.
I decided to have them as I may go travelling next year so I decided "no time like the present".
But I dont think you have to have them. I'm just a bit of a sucker for pain and needles... or a hyperchondriac!

No they aren't compulsory, and I still can't decide whether or not to have them before I go
Not that I'm afraid of needles, not in the least, just don't know if I want to have the jabs.

No honestly I'm not!
I too have got piercings and tattoos, and I've had lots of operations so a needle doesn't scare me!
I think to be honest it's the hassle of trying to get an appointment, I have to ring at 8AM on the day I want the appointment, at that time I'm with my first client of the day starting to wash them (I'm a care assistant) and by the time I can get through all the appointments have usually gone

Try my surgery. Walk in, if the nurse is free jab jab. Stagger out. 
Mine were £23 :S think it depends which practice you with.
Right, tomorrow at 5.15, I'm having Hep A, Thypoid and Diptheria. the nurse at my local surgery said it's a good idea to have them and even though I go away on 08/05/05, I should still go ahead.The thought is even making me light headed, what I'll be like tomorrow I don't know.
Oh dear, we're doing a very late booking (as in, just booked, going on Saturday!!!)

You are going to sharm el sheikh there is absolutly and I stress no need what so ever to get all these vacinations.
