Before you allow your family to swim in any pools please check the following:-

Never swim if you cannot see the bottom of a pool. Cloudy water can be unhygienic and you may not be able to spot any dangers nor a person who may be in difficulties.

Water chutes, slides, etc:-

Check that these are securely fixed and free from any obstructions or sharp edges. Ensure that the water is deep enough for landing safely but not too deep that poor swimmers may find themselves in difficulties.

Depth Check:-

Always ensure that depth markings are visible and that there are no sudden drops in depth within the pool.

Always, always check the depth of a pool before attempting to dive in. The recommended depth is at least 1.5m

Outlet pipes/Grills:-

Water flowing through outlet pipes has been the cause of accidents by trapping a bathers hair and holding them under the water.

Always check the grills for cleanliness.

Children:-

Never ever leave your child unattended either in or around the pool area even for a second.

Remember that babies under the age of four months should not be swimming at all, as they will not have had the correct vaccinations.

Don't run around the swimming pool edge.

Don't swim just after eating or drinking.

Be extra vigilante of an evening when the pool area may not be lit.

Never enter a pool when cleaning chemicals have just been added.

If you are unhappy with the cleanliness or safety of your accommodations pool then report it immediately to your rep, and the management.
