The rate of exchange is always better in Greece than in the UK. The rate today is 1.447. It had dropped slightly from a few days ago. I would always recommend having sterling either cash or travellers cheques which are insured. A credit card is good to have handy for emergencies, so remember your pin. Taking cash on cards is generally expensive as their rate is low and they charge a commission .
