olu deniz is lovely the lagoon is great and scenery fantastic, we are going there in oct, the town is small ish so most of the hotels are near the bars and shops, if you want something a bit more lively then hisaronu is about 2 miles up the hill and dolmuses run up there regularly ,hotels are slightly cheaper up there and then theres ovacik which is even cheaper to stay there but not a lot there and about another 1 or 2 further, way too quiet for me, i prefer to stay in olu deniz near the beach, the market is weekly in hisaronu, theres also fethiye which is about 8 miles away and is a much bigger town and has a harbour and huge weekly market, this area of turkey is lovely and about 38 miles from dalaman airport

Hi debbie, i have not been to olu deniz, yet,but have been to, side,gumbet,bodrum,kusadasi,marmarise and icmeler.....out of all of these i would say icmeler would suit you down to the ground....Gavin

On a purely selfish note I would not recommend Icmeler, if I do it will get even more popular and I may have problems booking myself a hotel which I like to do every year.
