Help!!! We used to love our holidays and since having first baby 11 months ago we havnt been anywhere - its about time we took the plunge and did something!!!
I am thinking of costa del sol in about April/May, where would people suggest for a good child friendly place.
Thanks
Vicky
hi
we took our youngest to the costa del sol when he was 6 months , 10 months and 21 months
spain in general are very welcoming of children
i cannot recommend a hotel / resort as we stayed at the in laws holiday home in La Cala then hired a car to go on day trips in the surrounding towns / villages
Nerja is lovely and Estepona we liked too,not as touristy as Fuengirola / Torremolinos we found
Puerto Banus is good for shopping
and Benalmadena for a drink in the marina and feed the fish lol
Gorgeous restaurant - Alberts which were fab with our 2 children ,its in Puerto Cabopino

Hi, we recently came home from the holiday village in Benalmadena, booked through first choice, great for families, although a little out of the area, but taxis are available on the hotel doorstep, my son was 18 months when we went and he loved it the pools are so safe as they are shelved pools so no big drops in, have a look at the pics on here under the costa del sol albumn then benalmadena photo album, there are some pics of when it first opened two years ago so take no notice of those at it is full built and open now lol.
we took our lo abroad when he was 7 month and 9 month and he has been fine each time, good luck wherever you decide to go.

While I agree that the Holiday Village can be good for children, you should know that there is no real beach very near, although a small one, down some steps is a few hundred yards away. If you're the sort to sit around the pool all day then the HV will suit you. It's on the main road but is between Benalmadena and Fuengirola, (nearer Fuengirola) so unless you hire a car you'll need to use taxis or the bus (there is stop right outside). If you like lying on a big beach, with easy access for pushchairs then I can recommend Fuengirola as it is very flat everywhere. Benalmadena is hilly so you would need to know exactly where you're staying or you could be trudging up hills and the same goes for Torremolinos which is extremely hilly in places.
Thanks for the replies - I have the first choice brochure and have been looking at costa del sol - its not to long a flight either which appeals! Will have another look tonight at the holiday village, as it does sound ideal, although a beach a bit nearer would be nice.
Will keep you posted on what ever we decide to do.
