We are off to the Marcan Beach Hotel in Olu Deniz for the first time. Anyone know if it is a good hotel and any good eating out/shopping tips for Olu Deniz?
Thanks
Anne
Will watch this thread with interest, going too in 3 weeks for the first time

This may be a good place for you to start.
Passed the Marcan Beach a few times but never went in - looked fine

Can't remember the Marcan Beach but all the hotels in Olu Deniz look OK. They all take a pride in their places whether its big or small, we are taking a chance this year by choosing a hotel which hasn't appeared on any of the reviews Ive read. The Azdeniz Hotel. We love the place and would be happy to sleep on a bench and still enjoy it there. You can't really go wrong when choosing a restaurant there are so many. Our favourite bar is the Buzz roof top bar. It has a web site (with a web cam) so you can have a look. Great cocktails!

Hi stsr
Just wanted to agree with the above post. Olu Deniz was one of the few resorts, where I walked round and thought that whatever hotel I had selected I would have been fine. All hotels are low rise, and attractive in style, I would imagine the bigger ones are more hectic than the smaller ones, but generally speaking I think you could take a chance on any of them. Enjoy.

Thanks that all sounds really great the days cannot pass quick enough now. The web cam looks wicked!! From all reports Turkey sounds the ideal holiday destination.
Lets hope the weather is nice and hot!!!

Olu is fantastic, we went to turkey for the first time 3 years ago after a Greek holiday fell through. We were not sure at all but after the first trip we were hooked, this will be our third time in Olu this year (fly Friday).
Olu has loads of places to eat and our favourite is the Kumsal Pide on the front, pide (turkish pizza) is great. You can get a dolmus (kamikaze bus) up to Hisoronu or Fethiye. Fethiye market is amazing and you can get all sorts of cruises from there or even a Dolmus to other places as well, who needs organised excursions with all the Dolmi going all over the place.
On the main street there are medical places and I think there was a dentist along there too.

Hi GG
We're also off to Olu on Friday - just can't come soon enough. Never been before, but heard great reports. Where are you staying, we might bump into you? We're staying all inclusive but we will eat out sometimes and will have to check out 'your' restaurant.

I can't believe no-one here has suggested you go to the White Dolphin restaurant for a meal, go an hour before sunset & watch the sun go down as you eat/drink
.
If you go into the Oyster Residence hotel on the sea front they will book a table & arrange a free minibus pick up & return for you
.
It's a little pricey (for Turkey) but WELL worth it
.
Happy holidays

The Asena Beach have an excellent restaurant and also the Karbel hotel. You can eat in both even though you are not staying there.
