Hi,
Me and my boyfriend are thinking of going to one of the Greek islands for 2 weeks at the end of June.
I really like the look of Skala.
Please can anyone who has been advise if they think it would be suitable for us.
We are 22 and 24. Don't like clubbing too much, just want a few bars and lots of good resturants. Somewhere really Greek if you know what i mean. We went to Magaluf last year and hated it. Must have a nice beach with coves so we can explore.
Also does anyone know of any good deals at the moment or who is the cheapest to book with, all of the websites i have looked at are showing prices of over £1000 for any half decnet hotels and thats only b+b.
Also whats the weather like at that time of year?
Sorry to ask so many questions but there are so many islands that its doing my head in looking.
Thanks
Liz

Do you mean Skala on Kefalonia?

Yes, sorry should have put that.

We have resort reports Click Here and Click Here for Skala (we have 2 different spellings for some reason)
If you are wanting to go to Kefalonia and are unsure of which resort then click at the top of the page "Resort Reports" then Kefalonia and there is a list there of the various resorts. If you want to look at Rhodes chose Rhodes etc.
Hope this helps

Well I think you'd enjoy it.
There's enough to do - plenty of restaurants for a fortnight and three or four bars which stay open till the last person fall out - the beach is sand and shingle but really wide.
Have a look at Olympic holidays - they come in at less than £1000.00 for the San giorgio for 2 weeks at the end of June but it is a bit out of the centre. Kosmar do the Makis and the Paspalis Hotels which are in great positions just on the beach and lovely too - Kosmar tend to be quite good prices.
Hoep this helps.

                Thanks for the info.
I have looked at the san giorgio but i did seem to far away. Got a price for the Makis which was good but the Paspalis didn't come up.
Have you stayed at the Makis? I think this worked out at just over £1000 for us both. There does seem to be quite a few smaller hotels available really cheap but they have no swimming pools.
Do you know what the weather is like then?

My friends stayed at the Makis and really liked it - it's in a great position as well - there are three blocks which the rooms are in and the pool is a good size with sun loungers. If it's coming in at about a grand I would say that's pretty good for booking it now - it tends to sell quite quickly. i think some other operators do the Paspalis but Kosmar tend to be the cheapest.
Weather will be in the 70's and 80's - I think it's a lovely time to go as the weather's good but not too hot and there are no kids around.
I'd say you need a car for the san giorgio and that limits drinking possibilities which is no fun!

Hi. We visited Skala last year and I have to say I thought it was very 'British'. Kefalonia is a beauiful island, get a car and have a look around. I think Lassi might be better for you. It is a purpose built resort but Argostoli is within walking distance (or taxi if you aren't feeling energetic). There are some lovely bars/restuarants in Argostoli and a beautfiul square to people watch.

Skala sounds like it could suit you and the weather is likely to be great at that time of year as suggested another place to consider is Lassi because it also will meet your requirments but has the additional attraction that Argostoliis 10 minutes walk away where you can enjoy great nights and days in this lively cosmopolitan capital. Skala is excellent. We stayed at the Tara Beach Hotel right on the beach and 3 mins. walk to all the tavernas two years running. It is much nicer than Lassi which is more purpose built for British tourists. Skala is much prettier and you need to hire a car and drive from Skala through Poros and over the mountains to some of the other beautiful places like Agia Efimia and Assos.
It is an excellent resort Skala - just enough bars and tavernas and entertainment with NO 18-30's or lager louts. Highly recommend it.
