As we have family there, we are in Vegas at least once a year (though by October we will have been there 3 times in 12 months!)

Although my Vodafone logs onto Cingular while there call and text charges for using it are horrendous.

I went to WalMart and bought a prepay Nokia, on US T-Mobile, for $29.85. That price included $10 airtime!

You get a straightforward Vegas phone number, not identifiable as a cellphone. Calls are 30c a minute down (if you top up with $100, the credit lasts for 12 months and call costs are 10c.) Ringing into the mobile from around Vegas costs just like a local call.
