OK, Mrs Hi De Hi has decided that she wants us to do route 66 but starting in Santa Monica and ending in Chicago. As it will be me doing all the driving (she won't drive on the wrong side of the road) I am insisting we rent a convertible. We won't be doing this until 2014 at least but in the Summer.

Before I start researching I would welcome any tips or experiences anyone has.
