The Lobster Pot Restaurant murder was an ex-policeman who had a row with his wife during "evening food service" killed her then went home leaving her body in the restaurant until it was found the next morning.

John Kelly was murdered last year in 24hour restaurant on Calangute High Streeet and nothing more has been reported since 3 or 4 staff were taken in for questioning.

t's the failure of the Goan police to effectively tackle drugs that is at the root of a lot of the problems

Considering that there was supposed to have been a clampdown on drug trading, I've never been approached and asked if I wanted drugs so much as I was last year. Anything... Opium, Ecstacy, Cocaine, Hashish... and that was in an area where the police said they had cleaned up.

Been asked on Calangute High Street if we want to buy drugs and that was during the day time.

Yes...we were asked too. He was walking by in opposite direction to us in the High Street in Calangute and asked as he went by not even looking up as to who he was speaking to! Considering we were both on the wrong side of 55 at the time - and O.H. had just trodden on a rusty nail that had gone straight through his shoe and into his foot..and was limping back to hotel....maybe he thought he just needed some pain relief! LOL!

BTW foot was ok....nicked the salt cellar from table of hotel..soaked foot..then poured neat Old Monk rum on it. WHAT a waste!!!!

Just read this in the Mumbai newspaper, and they have not gone into the Drugs situation which is most worrying.

They are without exception scan artists selling poor quality merchandise at vastly inflated prices. If you are looking for products such as these they are widely available almost anywhere in Goa through more trustworthy avenues (if there is such a thing as a 'trustworthy dealer').

Of course, we all endorse the policy of 'Just Say No!.
