Hi Nikole, there are so many great places in Austria. I speak from experience of living in Salzburg for six months and going to ski every weekend in Flachau. From Salzburg to Flachau there is a bus everyday, but you would have to wake up really early and stop skiing at 16. So I'm no big help on places to ski, but rather on the experience in Flachau. It is a great place, lot of mountains and long tracks, snow should be fine around that time. You might get the tracks full some days but its a nice place. Have fun there

Yes, at the beginning when I went to ski there I used to rent my equipment at some local places there. I tried some different places, but then kept going to one at Starjet, next to the place the bus would leave us. The rental shop we choose was Sport 2000 . Solden is a good choice. Awesome wide slopes, perfect for beginner/intermediate. This includes the Glacier. Also some good nightlife and shopping. If you go I suggest staying near the "Giggijoch" Cable car because this is the fastest route to the part of the mountain that has those nice wide easy slopes.Another options that fits your bill is St.Anton. very lively, something for everyone, on and off-piste. It's very international, lots of English speaking so not quite as authentic as some other resorts.a third option, my favorite is Ischgl. lots of nightlife and budget shopping though it caters to a slightly older croud. It's not a particularly difficult mountain but I don't think it has quite as many options for beginners as the other two options.
