Hi we are staying in Calangute but don't want to spend time on the main beach as wasn't that keen before. Prefer somewhere quieter that doesn't have lots of sellers, has a few shacks and isn't too far away in a taxi. Visited Coco Beach before but have heard it isn't the same anymore...dirty, hardly any shacks etc. Remember visiting Morjim Beach which was lovely but would like somewhere with a few more shacks, there was only one there.
Any ideas?
little vagator is a really great beach but please anyone with walking difficulties or with a heart problem then its not recomended

Yes your right Sharon it is a bit of a hike up and down the hill, I should have mentioned that.
I think you'll find more than 1 shack at Morjim without it being too busy, there certainly was last season. Ashvem & Mandrem are nice too,
My 2 favourites are Morjim & Mandrem.
Palolem would have been up there around 10 years ago but not now.

Utorda beach is beautiful and only an hours drive from calangute visit Zeebop shack/rest plenty of shade if you want it and a lovely quiet beach with only 5 shacks spread out.
I would also recommend Utorda , it is heaven, you may not want to go everyday Whiskas because of the distance but well worth a day or 2 , closer to Calangute, my faves are Ashwem and Mandrem
we liked baga beach, i think more so because i was on a sunbed and the sea came in, surrounding me,
Little Vagator is my favourite, but it was overrun with sellers last year. Seems the police move them from baga etc and they all moved to vagator.
Ashvem and Kerri beach are also nice

If you must have shacks - Mandrem is nice, up by "Little Goa."

If you can live without the shacks - Reddi Beach is the one.

I agree Max Reddi is something special, dont tell anyone as they will all go and spoil it.
could you please tell me where Kerri beach and Reddi beach are located as they look so wonderfull
thanks sharon
thanks sharon

Kerri is past Arambol and Reddie is over the river from there via the ferry. It is a fair hike from Baga but worth a visit, as Mike says the views from Tiracol fort are the best in Goa. If you look on the Goa map these beaches are as far north as you can go, I think Reddi is over the border but could be wrong.
