We are going to the resort of meloneras aug 27th, staying at the Gran hotel Costa Meloneras, can anybody give us some idea what we can expect, first time to Gran Canaria, so any information on what to do, where to go etc would be appreciated.

We went to Melenoras March 2004 and had a great time. It is a much more up market area than nearby Maspolamas. There are a stretch of hotels along the front and then a path that is along in front of them all. You will probably be able to walk to several restaurants and also a shopping centre. You will need a car to go further. Don't miss the sand dunes (go to the other side of them and go through the RIU hotel to access them) and also Puerto de Morgan is a fair drive but worth an outing as it is a very pretty town.
We loved Gran Canaria - we stayed at the H10 Playa Melenoras Palace.
