Hi all,
At last, it's almost time!! We're off on holiday on Tuesday night, staying for 15 nights AI at the Beach Club Doganay. Having read almost every review on the internet and as confused as ever,the hotel seems to be ok with a very mixed bag. Time will tell!!!!
As we have never been to this area before, we would appreciate all your suggestions on activities and places to visit, much along the lines of:
When I am in Antalya, I must ..............???
When I am in Antalya, I should not .............???
I would especially welcome advice on shore fishing in this area. I will be using my 20Kg baggage allowance wisely!!! 18Kg of fishing tackle and 2Kg of non essentials!!

Plenty of things to do in Antalya,such as visits to the ancient city of Perge and Aspendos the ancient amphitheatre.As for fishing if you go down to the old marina ,which is in itself a lovely day out with old houses ,one of the oldest Mosques in Turkey ,shops and nice restaurants you will be able to book boat trips for sport or leisure. 
Things not to do ,sit about all day fishing.

Do not eat or drink anything in the restaurant/cafe near to the clock tower above Kaleiçi. I forget the name but the dominant colour is orange.
The owner takes great pride in overcharging customers.
Other things to do include a visit to either or both waterfalls at Düden and Kurşunlu. The cable car ride at Kemer.
Aspendos; a roman amphitheatre is a spectacular setting for ballets and operas. There is a cultural programme of events for the summer months.
If you go take a cushion some nibbles and a bottle or two of wine and enjoy.
